VR6 B8

VR6 B8
Hey! Ive been looking into Audi's for quite some time now, but I'm struggling finding the information I'm looking for. I'm considering swapping a VR6 engine into a B8 Audi, but can only find information on the B5. I do understand that these are two different cars, but if possible, I would like to be pointed in the right direction with this. I own 3 different cars with the VR6 and have nothing but good things to say about the engine. I love the look of the B8 and am looking into making higher power without the worry of consistently breaking a a more expensive engine, hence I'm considering the swap. If anyone could provide information or at least point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated!
I apologize if I posted this in the wrong section.

Not to mention that the VR6 is designed for transverse mounting, but the B8's engine is mounted longitudinally.
Not saying it couldn't be made to work, but the negatives seem to far outweigh whatever benefits you might get.
If higher power is what you're after, there are plenty of guys in this and other forums who are running low 11's in the quarter mile with nothing but tunes and pulley changes for the supercharger.

My impression from the VR6 swap was the reliability and to be cost effective in the long run. The VR6 would require fabrication and money to get it to work initially, but in the long run I thought it could save money. I am not familiar with the b8 S4 engines and their reliability under high hp, which is why I'm inquiring on this thread. The main goal is to obtain a high hp b8 audi that would be reliable and not cost an arm and a leg when something breaks (which seems inevitable with more power). From what I have seen, the S4 engine is very expensive, especially when compared to the current prices of a VR6. I also have a few engines of my own which makes them free. Again, I am not looking to do a swap just to do it. I want something that will last me for years down the road and decrease the cost with a reliable build.

From what I've seen, the engine is not the weak spot in the B8/B8.5. There are plenty of posts from guys with tuned cars that are putting nearly 400hp to the wheels, and they are daily drivers.
I think you're going down a rat-hole that would end up costing you thousands of dollars, destroy the resale value of the car, and won't gain you anything other than unique factor.
Just my two cents.

That does make sense. What do most recommend as far as reliable hp builds? I searched around and came across this: Audi S4/S5 (B8/B8.5) 3.0T FSI V6 TVS1740 Magnuson Supercharger System - Magnuson Products, LLC
From what I'm understanding, getting more hp from the S4 only requires a few bolt-on modifications. How long would such a high hp s4 last?

You don't have to spend anywhere near that much money to put a poop-eating grin on your face with an S4. A $1200 tune and maybe a supercharger pulley upgrade is all you need, and you'll find yourself with way more power than can be responsibly used in a street car. A few links:
