5 w 30 5w 40 ? I am in New England

Just had the Valvoline synthetic put in, 10w40, can't hurt to have the extra thickness when the oil is hot.

Also running Valvoline Syn Power 10-40. Car has been using a little oil (bought used now with 55k miles). Probably the result of a faulty PCV valve. But agree, with summer coming a little thicker oil won't hurt.

However, I have moved from New England and have recently switched to 5W-40 Motul or Lubrimoly from ECS - I just buy the whole oil change kit.

BTW, The new Florett Silver is so beautiful. It is throughout the Audi Line and is so rich in metal flake, it looks different in every light. I saw an S6 in that color and it it stopped me cold.
