Winter in Boston MA area
Does anyone driving your s4 under the extreme weather condition in MA area now?
I want your thought because of the s4 only have about 5" ground clearance...even it got a good quattro system. I am worrying about the ground clearance will be a problem under blizzard.

Equipped with winter tires, I find the S4 to be an absolute beast in the snow! Ground clearance be damned! With smooth inputs at the wheel and the throttle, I have great confidence. One tip is that I carry a thin 24" PVC pipe ($4 at hardware store) to clear the built up snow in the wheel wells, as it causes vibration.

Vicky, the lack of ground clearance isn't terribly helpful. I've got the Sport Pkg on my A4 and that yields a ride height similar to the S4...the car is scraping and dragging over everything. Huge difference between that and our A6.

If it's fresh fluff (Powder) it's not a problem, but if it's a plow berm or older hard pack you can find yourself beach (high centered) that's if the tearing off of your front lip didn't stop you first.. And if it's Hard Crust Corn show, well God Help You, your not going anywhere but backing back our your tracks...maybe.
You have to just use your best judgment and be responsible for your decision.
Mark.

The ground clearance hasn't been much of hindrance for me so far. They have a statewide ban on driving during the blizzard anyway when there are huge piles in some spots. The next day posed no challenges for an already capable car. The bigger issue will be the ensuing potholes especially for those riding on 19's or larger.

I was just thinking about people who either have the sport package on their car or an S4 as I was clearing snow and crud out all around my Nokians here in MA. We only got 23 inches (ha), but you probably had some awful vibration if you were out and about. You'll have to get a Q series to go with your S for this kind of weather!

in storms like this past one I miss my old C5 allroad with Hakka's, but that's replaced with an an X5 35d also with Hakka's and it's good enough though definitely not as fun
would have been fun to have something like a Raptor with snows...
