I'm in the same boat as my S6 lease is up in November. Assuming you are currently driving an Audi, you may have the option of extending your lease if you have a deposit on a new S4.
You could also consider the new Jaguar XE which should be available within your time frame.

I have also been looking around for available S4 B9 alternatives. It's a tough quandary.

Been considering some extreme alternatives, such as a used 2013 Porsche 911 or 2014 Audi S6.

The MB C450AMG torque hits the peak at 2k RPM, much latter than the S4 B9 (1.3k RPM).
Don't want a BMW (transmission tunnel hits my leg)
Don't want a Lexus - design aesthetic is not appealing.
Don't like the looks of the Cadillac
MB C63 is not AWD

The C430AMG is really catching my eye right now, the interior of MB has always been one of the best and now they are backing it up with some nice performance. Then again, I could also save some money and check out the M2..

Yeah that would be a good performance alternative, but it is much, much smaller than an S4

Definitely worth testing the C450/C43. I liked how it drove, but it feels cheap and unrefined compared to a B9 Audi. Also more cramped size wise.

The Volvo S60 Polestar is too much money to compete with the Audi B9 A4. The regular Volvo S60 is more toe-to-toe with the B9 A4. Comparing expected pricing of the B9 S4, the Volvo S60 Polestar will still command more $$. However, on paper, it does seem like the S60 Polestar (despite the smaller displacement engine) looks like its meant to compete with the B9 S4.
