The low end torque is missing on the C43, Max torque at 2k RPM, instead of 1.3k RPM.

But I didn't like it much. Doesn't feel very sporty, no linear power build. Just sitting on a (high) plateau of torque the whole time, regardless of gear. Boring.

Certainly, if travelling at motorway speeds in a high gear and trying to accelerate at 1350-1500rpm without the transmission changing down, you will get the best response from the high torque engine.

But I drive my S5 in Dynamic mode (and transmission is in S). And I drove the Mercedes (C450) in Sport and Sport+. The only time the engines are below 2000rpm are for about 0.1 seconds prior to launch?

I gave up on the B9 S4, because the wait is too long and the possible first model year bugs.

I bought a new 2016 S6 sport off the lot, instead.

Best picture of the car:

Unfortunately Audi hides it under this:

I think the 20" wheels are little much and will probably switch to 19" wheels. The brakes are nice though:

Exactly what I did, and after only a few days ownership, I'm very, very impressed with the car. There's no question that you feel the weight of the S6 compared to the S4, but it's almost as agile and the overall package is much more impressive. I ended up with a car that was pretty much exactly what I would have ordered, but at a wildly discounted price that brought it to within few thousand dollars of what I believe a new fully-loaded S4 will cost. I could end up back in an S4, maybe waiting four years until its facelift, but the S6 will easily tide me over until then.

Would you mind to share what a "wildly discounted price" in percentage of MSRP means? Thanks!

Including Audi rebates, almost 15% off an $87k MSRP. End of month sale moving an expensive bit of inventory?

Much like that great deal off a S6, if you don't want to wait -- there are a fair few S3s around on lots that are getting heavily discounted. I was in a similar position, I went in wanting a S4 but after figuring out what the wait time was and my lease coming to an end I was able to get 15% off a S3 Prestige.

Having a heck of a fun time with it so far, and this gives me the flexibility to see how things pan out for the eventual arrival of the S4 or the rumored RS3 around the same time frame.
