ZF’s 8-Speed Automatic Transmission - Tech Dept. - Car and Driver

Are there other cars with this transmission that have been reviewed? I think the new Alfa has this transmission with paddle-shifters.

There's only 2 versions of the ZF 8 speed. The one that ZF builds and the one Chrysler-FIAT builds under license. The Chrysler-FIAT one is used only in their vehicles. Everyone else uses the ZF version.

How has the reliability of this transmission been so far for vehicles approaching over 150k miles?

What are the maintenance requirements for the transmission -I guess mainly I'm talking about tranny fluid changes and at what interval? If they say it's a "sealed" unit, do people still change the fluid anyway?
