Default 2001.5 S4 Speedometer Inop

I have a 2001.5 S4 and the speedo worked fine until I crushed the speedo sender and plug. I replaced the sender with a factory new sender but replaced the plug with one from an 98 audi a4 in a junk yard. I connected the sender with the plug but the speedo still does not work. Do you think the plug is to blame since it was of an A4. Somebody please help me cause I need to pass inspection!! Anyone?

I doubt that a plastic piece could render something inop... Did you make sure you put the wires back the correct way? Sounds to my like it's wired backwards. Or... in the process of crushing the plug and sensor.. maybe you might have shorted the speedo stepper motor. While it's possible, I'm not saying thats what happened.

Check everything out and go from the sensor, make sure its reading something if anything.

Good luck, keep us updated

I would have to agree with Chris.Check your wires make sure you didnt mix the pins up and make sure you have a good connection and that none of the pins are loose or backed up.Start with that.
