Is a 225/45/17 tire the same as 235/40/17?

I run Toyo R888 235/40/17 at the track. It's a much more common size for several of the Spec racing
series events through NASA and SCCA so prices tend to be lower.
No problems at all with running them. Speedometer may be a bit off, but who's looking at the speedometer on the track anyways?

Yup, I'm registered for VIR in the blue group. Since I only do DEs, I didn't bother shaving the
tires since I'd rather have a little extra longevity over additional grip. Plus, they're scrubbed in pretty good now and I'm happy with their performance. I'm sure you saw the thread on Mid-Atlantic about the difference between the shaved and unshaved R888s. If not, click here. If you don't need absolute performance (in the case of racing), I probably wouldn't bother.
I am a little nervous, though. This will be my first event since I blew a turbo last November at VIR. Car seems to be fine, but I haven't really pushed it all yet...we'll see

Cool, I saw the link. I am getting them used so they are already shaved, pray for no rain:)
Did you go KO4 on your new turbos? My brother just had his replaced in his A6 with KO4s. I blew mine on my Allroad but replaced them with KO3 because I was still under warranty.
Where are you staying?
