Default Good luck. I tried this a year ago and AOA pretty much told me to kiss my A...

I sent the letter to AOA and the NTSB. My situation involved a truly dead cluster, not just the display. I was quickly contacted by AOA, but since the car had 85K miles on it they offered very little support and referred me to the dealership. The dealership offered a discount "ouf of good faith", but it was still much cheaper to order a new one and replace it on my own.

Default The intent here is not to...

get a free fix. It would be nice. I am the original owner of my "S" This problem started 1200 miles after the warranty expired. I took it to the dealership and they quoted me $700. I opted to walk away. I should not have done this, I should have just pressed on and had it replaced.

No one should be upset at a simple request to make a phone call or send a letter in support of a simple situation. If it is opposed by some, then simply walk away. Why question the motives of others? You either show support or let their efforts be heard.

It is obvious that there are supporters on this forum. Hence... why we have a forum. To solicit feedback, help, or for chat.

Maybe...just maybe, they will finally replace the faulty piece. We all love our cars and are fully aware of the cost associated with owning an S4... wouldn't it be nice to just get a faulty piece replaced?

Default After talking to an Audi service tech about it, he said that he sees more S4/A4s

with this issue then not having it. It think there is enough people on this forum to get a good statistical analyis though.

Default Even though your intent may be innocent, there are many others that are not.

I'm sure AOA and many other car companies get letters or threats of lawsuits constantly which affects the way they handle these types of situations. There are tons of wack jobs out there that will do anything for a free fix or free stuff. I hope you do get the issue with your car resolved but I personally would have just forked over the $700 and been done with it.
