Altenator
How much time do I have once she starts makin noise fellas? Dont know if its the windings or the bearings but when its cold out, she whistles a bit. Also, is this replacement relatively easy or should I bring it somewhere?

Fix it right away...When mine went, it was immediate.
If you can do a timing belt, you can change an alternator.
There is a way to drop the alternator out the bottom of the car---front clip in service position. But I don't know how. I saw it done.

when my alternator went was on road and battery light came on and voltage started dropping until lost all power and car would only start and drive when cooled down.
Yes replaced from underneath, had done at dealership that I work at. -think it was only an hour labor or so.
Something to look forward too...new factory alternator brought new life to my S4, felt more powerful with electronic system back at spec.
