Default APR ECU Upgrade Question

Thinking about getting APR's ecu upgrade. Wondering if anyone has had any reliability problems with this upgrade? Also if used rarely (like once a week), how will it affect your turbo life?

These chips are all well tested and reliable.

I ran APR ECU for many years, no problems.

We love ours. I haven't heard any issues on reliability. A search should help for sure though on turbo life as I do not have that many miles on it yet.

The only drawback is with a taste of the power, you'll want to go stage 3 and you will have blown some cash on the APR flash you could've used for a bigger upgrade.

I've had the APR stage 1 flash for over two years now and it's been great.

Haha, yeah. he will never want to run it in stock mode again since it runs better all around with the chip.

Ha, good point actually. Matt S4, if you do get the flash, don't bother with spending money on the stock program option. You'll never go into stock mode once you feel the chipped mode. Chipped program plus not pushing hard on the gas pedal = stock program, so there's no real point to having the option. If you want a slow option for lending the car to a teenager or something, get the valet mode so it'll prevent getting into boost and will limit the top speed.

I put mine back to stock once, after the turbos blew so the dealer would warrenty the new ones. And once to see how the fuel economy was changed. I got better with the chip.

APR stock mode has one other thing that is good. It keeps people from wanting to joy ride your car when you take it in for service.
