Beater's

ya but if you dont drive it everyday you will get to enjoy it even longer.
plus the road i take to work has a few nar-nars that i dont think i could clear...i love having a daily driver i can beat the **** out of and not care. (93 legacy)

a crappy stop and go commute is one reason to save it....
I save mine. My comute is all of 5-6 miles, not enough time to warm up, nor have any fun, and I don't want to leave it in a hospital parking garage for 12 hours at a time.

yep, my commute is 15 miles of bumper to bumper traffic...not even worth thinking about
taking the S4 to work..theres just no way i could enjoy it...and a stick in that traffic is just hell. I wouldnt even think about NOT having a beater/DD.

I only use mine for the commute really.
Not like this is a Classic Ford GT super car with no A/c and plastic seats.
Hell you can pick up a S4 now for less than $10k now. (granted we all have more in these cars) But there is no real value in "preserving" them at the expense of a beater.

I disagree, I did the math in terms of extra costs on the S4...
v. what they are on my beater, and also there's the preservation factor. My 7 year old car has just over 70k miles and I guarantee is in better shape than 90% of cars with similar mileage. It's babied and pampered b/c I want to get in it and go ahhhhhhhhhhh this is niiiiiiiiiiice.

"u can pick up a S4 for 10k"..not in the condition my S4 is in...just sayin.
in 5 yrs from now when your car has 200k and is barely limping down the road, i'll still have under 100k miles and will still look and drive like new.
