The legal def of Sythetic has changed, M1 is now just a blend, overpriced for a blend!

Default Yea...Saw that Roman, just wanted to see if anyone has any new info

since you just brought it up. If true, a little troubling as I've been using M1 for years...(Oh, miss-type in my email - 5W-40, not 30...doh..)

Thttp://www.viperclub.org/articles/oilfaq.html This may explain it? Look for when is a synthetic not a synthetic. Good explanation.

Default Not sure if it has been mentioned, but what about Elf motor oil? Seems they are trying to...

increase their exposure in the US market. Maybe something to look into.

Default I was just on their website, and it still says it is 100% synthetic. They don't say

anything about any changes there.

And, it is listed as an Audi Qualified oil on their recent update.

Nothing about esters. In fact, that's what I was looking for.

Default i use motul which is a sythetic esters. mobil 1 supposedly offers esters and polyalphaolefins

mostly polyalphaolefins or (PAO). i'll have to check mobil's website some more.
