Default boost guage/ housing

so im starting to get some simple stuff ordered for my 2000 s4, which as is only has a swiss cheese airbox, and my friend just got the Aem digital boost gauge on his rsx-s, i really like this gauge as AEM also has it as a manual boost controler/guage all in one which is what i like best, since im trying to keep my dash as clutter free as posible, so i was wondering if any one ethir has or know where i can get a ceneter vent gauge pod as i dont need the guage that comes with it from awe and def dont wana drop 300 on the guage/controler and then have to shell out for stuff i dont really need, also whats a safe level to run at since im running it basicly stock untill l8r this month when im gona get it chiped and gut my exhaust, and if any one knew the gains id get with increased boost it would be great, full details of my s4 are, 2000 s4, 76,xxx miles highly taken care of as far as maintence goes and always run on 93

Just cut up one of your vents. That's the cheapest way to do it. I wouldn't up boost without a chip. That is just asking for trouble and will most likely result in a throttle cut from the ecu since the car is boosting higher than requested. You may want to look into the podi boost gauge. They make a nice digital boost gauge and housing to mount it on the steering column.

It's a PITA but like Rolled said, you can make a decent vented boost gauge yourself. That's what I ended up doing after the POS housing I ordered from APR would not stay flush with the rest of the vents no matter what I did...

Took me about 2 hours and 2 blisters thanks to a crappy pair of pliers.
