Chips for the S4?

Talked to APR about this for a while. This is strictly unofficial info.
Their current guess is that they will be extending the torque curve into the upper end of the rev range, thus upping horsepower to over 300, possibly 320 bhp. They also expect it to increase the torque peak, though by how much, they didn't share with me.
Their development S4 is to be one of the first delivered in the country, and they expect the first chips to ship 6-8 weeks after that.
As I recall from their website, their chips come with lifetime free upgrades, so being early doesn't mean you get stuck with a buggy chip.
This guy's guess at the price was $600, about 2x their 1.8t chip. He "justification" sounded contrived. What I read between the lines was "clearly S4 customers can afford more." To be fair though, they may expect to sell a lot fewer since there will be so many fewer S4s than 1.8ts, thus they need to charge more to cover their development costs.
There is also the issue of do you just get a chip, or do you get a whole new ECU board. The latter makes it easy to swap back in the factory board if you're worried about your dealer fussing that you've modified it. I assume that would be an additional cost as well.<ul><li><a href="http://www.goapr.com/Home/home.html">APR website</a></li></ul>

info on chips for Euro S4
If Audi can make their 1.8 reliable at 225hp, and the S4 engine is exactly 50% larger.....
then 330+ should be reasonable, right?
Here are 3 sites for chips for the Euro S4:
http://www.hs-elektronik.com/datenblatt/audis4-265ps.html
http://212.227.54.20/fzg/ukaudis4.html
http://www.tap1.com/models/S4tt/
Hopefully we won't ahve to wait too long for US-version mods!
(If we do, maybe we can change to Euro ECU, and use Euro chip?)

Have a friend here in SanAntonio who has business
ventures in Germany-has a Euro S4-running a MTM chip- 337hp/386ft-lb torque-says it will blow off M5's on the Autobahn! Also most 911's-(no turbo's)-PS- car has been lowered an additional 25mm -MTM springs+Bilstein Sports.
