I am not a big fan of leather.

Is cloth available (maybe as a special order) in North America.

I suppose alcantara is 'sort of' close to cloth?

Alcantara is close to cloth. What a dealer told me is it is used on the doors and headliner in the A8. After I checked it out in the A8, I decide to go with it. It seems like the leather/alcantara combo might work for you're not a big leather fan.
