Default Clunk, Clunk, Coast, No go

Cruising at about 45mph last night and I hear and feel a small clunk under the car. Thought I caught something on the AWE DTS, so I coasted off the road. Left the car running, looked underneath, nothing.... Got back in the car, put the car in gear, but it wouldn't move. Speedo goes up though....

It goes in to each gear fine... 1am, so I pushed it off on a side-street and got a ride.

Any ideas on where to start? axle? drive-shaft?

I'm limited on service options and 45 miles from home. Trying to decide if I should have it towed home or to a shop.

Thanks,
Matt

Default How long ago was your stg3 done?

Your driveshaft or one of your front CV axles may have come unbolted. The rear may be hard to see because of the shield.

Broken axle wouldn't keep you from moving. Sounds like your transmission died.

I'm fairly certain it won't move with a d/c'd driveshaft.

Isn't this the same argument as the "you can get stuck w/ quattro when one wheel is suspended."

Default No. With the driveshaft DC'd there's basically zero mechanical resistance to create a bias ratio...

The torsen is an open diff in this circumstance.

Our EDLs are why this argument doesn't work.
