Cold weather makes a difference
So living in south florida during the summer and fall it is significantly hot enough so that the car felt strong but not what I expected. Now that the temperature has dipped from a steady 85-90 into the 40's and fifties, the car is what I expected for all of the hype. It is smooth and pulls strong, and performs as I had hoped. Just yesterday it easily caught, and ran by a modified srt-8 on the highway.
This is definitely, as with most forced induction cars with tight engine bays not the best when the temp gets anywhere from 95-100+ during the Florida summers here as I have seen in the past 15 years or so. But I will say, when in the temperatures that frequent the German countryside that it was designed for come around, it truly shines.
My fiancee and I are considering moving over there in the near future, and if we do I look forward to driving the grey market vehicles in their home environment on those amazing roads they have. Drive safe, and I hope your holiday was a good one.

Hey I don't want to hear it - man, at least you are at sea level! Try coming up here to Denver at 5300 ft elevation. But yeah temps can make a noticeable difference. It is a lot more noticeable in the older stuff (like my 20V) than the S4 - but there is a difference. I notice a significant change at the 60F temp. It's almost like a switch. It's too bad most of the great power days come in the winter when the car is dirty and saddled with snow tires...sigh.
Enjoy the power while you can!

Haha Yeah I went up there to drive the ridge line and to spend some time exploring. At the time I had an '04 tundra and there was a difference even with that big v8. It IS totally like a switch though when you hit that temp.
