Coolant sensor problem

Coolant sensor problem
Error code P0117 showed up after a cold morning where I had a lot of problems starting. Couldn't find the same symptoms via search but found this via google: http://forums.motivemag.com/zerothread?id=4289058
That's pretty much what I had, and when it finally started I couldn't add gas or it would die (temp approx. 40F/5C). First time I've had this problem, can anyone confirm that the coolant sensor is the only thing I need to change? Also, looking at several sites found a few brands of sensors, any recommendations?
