Generally speaking, the open element filters are not the way to go, though some of the Stage III cars are tuned for them. The EVO and ABD make feeble attempts at blocking off hot air with they call a heat shield.
I use just the ABD Big Bore Intake Pipe...and combined it with the X1 intake which has a true heat shield.
I ran the open element against the DarIntake and the latter made more usable power...If you are going to go open element source yourself an X1, otherwise stick with a DarIntake.

No, the X1 comes with a pipe to connect the filter to the MAF- ->
which is gone now that the ASP MAF is in. The ABD intake pipe comes with the red silicone connectors..that's it. Not really worth the $125 in retro-spect
