Default Does the S4 have 16 psi of boost?

According to R&T the S4 has 16 psi of boost. I'm not a turbo expert but that seems awfully high.
R&T seems to have many errors on the S4's specs including the engine block and trim so I was wondering if the boost was wrong also.

This feeling of waiting for my S4 is unbearable. I've been carrying around every piece of literature (Euro/US brochures, magagine articles etc.) that I have on the S4 everywhere I go (work, class, restaraunts, bathroom). Anybody else?

I assume you mean the S4 biturbo which has 0,7 bar. Mine has 1,3bar with a MTM chip.

I'm a loser too Drew! Anybody who's name appears frequently here has the same affliction! ;-)

Default You chipped to 1.3 bar! - that's almost 19 PSI! - anything broken yet?

If not, I say that you're lucky, or you've made other appropriate modifications, and if so, what modifications have you made?

Default Just tighten the intake hose clamps :)

The UrS4 will run 30-35psi of boost all day long, 19psi is no big deal.

2.7T has twice the turbos (hence twice the total boost) of the 1.8T: 7.5+7.5=15 psi

Default Not 100% sure, but I think each turbo is running about 7lbs boost. (more)

You cannot add the two up to get 14 lbs, either. There is 7lbs of boost pressure in each cylinder bank.

The 1.8T uses the K03 turbo, in stock form the turbo is producing a maximum of about 7 or 8 psi. Doubling that to about 14.5 psi on 1.8T (producing around 200hp) is pretty much known to be the limit of the stock turbo. Since we know the 2.7 biturbo is using the same K03 turbo, I think we can safely assume that the maximum boost in stock form is about 7 or 8 psi. Chip tuners are probably raising that to around 1.0 bar, or 14.5psi, to get 310 to 325hp out of that engine. That is about the maximum those turbos are capable of.

Default actually no, as it is my understanding that each turbo feeds 1 bank of cylinders

hence, you basically have 2 three cylinder engines running 7 psi of boost each

That's exactly what I meant: two turbos, each w/same boost as the one in the 1.8T
