S4 Front Control Arm P/N
Hello All,
I am in the process of installing a new front left lower rear control arm (front left curved arm). I ordered a new Febi arm from ECS Tuning. They sent me an arm that looks the same as the old except the ball joint is different. The new arm has a tapered ball joint where the old arm has a larger diameter straight ball joint. It appears the new arm would not fit tightly in the upright (I have the aluminum uprights). I called them and they tell me I have the correct arm.
The old arm P/N is 4D0407695J. The new arm has two P/N's on the box - 8E0407693Q and 8E0407693AG.
I do not see the P/N on the old arm listed anywhere online including ETKA. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Tom

After speaking with the local dealer, I realized I did have the correct control arm. The tapered ball joint was pressed into a bushing. The bushing was not supposed to come out with the control arm (nice design Audi). After applying lots of heat, I was able to remove the bushing and reinstall it in the upright.
