hey, just found this about Troy....
"Rensselaer was mentioned in an April 7 New York Times "Escapes" story about Troy, which described the city as having "one of the most perfectly preserved 19th-century downtowns in the United States." Part of the author's tour included a plaque commemorating Washington Roebling, chief engineer of the Brooklyn Bridge and member of the Rensselaer Alumni Hall of Fame, who lived in Troy while his son attended Rensselaer. "
AHAHAHAHHAHAAH - perfectly preserved = nothing's been fixed or improved ;-)

http://news.rpi.edu/campusnews/update.do?artcenterkey=1485</a
