Fuel Injector leak fix

pictures and description on replacing injectors, which essential you are doing, just ignore the directions on the orientation of the green giants (aftermarket injectors), and return yours just like the came out.
it will take some muscle to get the fuel rail off.

There is no need to clean the injectors. Gasoline is an excellent solvent and your nozzles should be as clean as ever when you take them out.
When you remove the rail be careful not to pull too hard on the piping. Try to get a handhold on the two cross-bars instead. I would not try to pry it out using a tool, just be patient and jiggle furiously. As julex pointed out you can work in reverse too. Remove the square clips and try to pull the rail out while the injectors stay seated in the manifold. This might be easier.
Try to work the front two injectors out, then the rear two, and that should make it easier to pull the fuel rail up and out with only the middle two injectors still seated in the intake manifold.

Thats a lot of great help. Probably just saved myself a few hundred dollars. Another question: are they injector O rings universal or must be purchased specifically for 2001 S4? I was planning on doing them tomorrow, but dont know where to pick up the o rings. Thank you guys again for all the help and tips, extremely helpful.

I'm sure they are some sort of standard size but I would get them from someone who sells Audi parts regardless. Send VAST performance an email, I'm sure they can set you up. Or search the ECS tuning catalog.
Makes sure to get the top and bottom o-rings (two o-rings per injector)

Lastly, Ive been reading a lot of articles about how and what to lube the rings up with. Many say no oil as it causes the rings to swell. Others say gasoline has zero lubrication, and might tear the rings when installing. No quite sure what to use now. Dont want to make the issue worse that it already is.

It is advised to spray some brake cleaner around the holes and quickly insert the injectors. It evaporates quickly and provides some lubrication, just enough to insert them.
