Oh, I get it now. I swap wheels/rotate myself, though.

Default Are Fringe Ryder & Todd W the same person? Fringe said he swaps onto stock rims for $30...

And I'd really like to know where he gets 4 tires mounted & balanced for $30. Any hidden costs in there? Or do really just slap down 3 sawbucks an be on your way?

Default get Z rated all season tires for 'casual' winter driving

On my 95 Eclipse GSX (full time AWD, 200+ hp) I run 225/50/R16 Z rated Bridgestone RE940s year around. I give up some dry performance but I'm not bothered by the occasional rain or snow. I've taken the car to Tahoe and have not had any problems. This is the lazy way of going. If you want to do it 'right', get whatever high performance tires fit your budget and prevailing weather and an extra set of cheap rims with snow tires. Changing tires is a snap if you use a power screwdriver with some adapters. Of course you use a torque wrench for final tightning.

I'd say I can swap all 4 tires in less then 30 minutes. Of course the awesome brakes on the S4 probably require quite a bit of clearance so I am not sure if you could get 15 or 16" rims to fit properly.

Regards,

Sander

Default I'm me. Who are you ? <g> (more)

I get my wheels mounted/balanced for $30 at Discount Tire. Maybe it's because the managers always get to know me, but that's what it is: $7.50 per. Of course, if you and your S.O. spent as much as we do, they'd probably give you a few bucks off here and there too.

BTW, don't know who Todd is.

Regards.
