Default Is this a good price for service or should I take it to an independent shop

Last several months been having squeaking at slow speeds.

Took it to the dealership before moving back out to colorado.

They told me the back right brake has siezed and messed up the bearing so both need fixed

Also some cv boot thing?

Maybe one other thing I cant quite remember but theyre quoting like $1800

Is that a fair price or would it be less at an independent shop say here in colorado than in a dealer in ohio?

Im thinking going to avalonmotorsports in denver because they have altituning and I need car tuned.

Also guy says that the driver side turbo is loud which it has been for years and both def need replaced.

Should I just pull the trigger and get it all done at the sametime in Denver?

I would go to an independent shop that repairs German cars and use Angie's list for feedback. I just did that for the NYC area with good results.

Has anyone else had wheel bearing issues or seized brake issues?

It is the right rear wheel and only that one apparently.

Is this something that will reoccur with the other wheels and brakes?

Im at 91,000 or 92 roughly and only had it for around 40,000 or so.

Would enjoy driving this car forever.

The VW/Audi rear brake design is prone to seizing (the B5 A4 and S4, the C5 A6 and VW GTIs use a similar design). After each winter I take the rear caliper carriers off my cars and derust them and relubricate the the sliding
surfaces and pins. If an Audi is not used on a regular basis the pads will stick to the caliper carrier. VWs use a slightly better version of the Lucas rear brake system with a stainless steel insert at the brake pad to carrier sliding surface. In my opinion for the cost of an Audi a better rear brake system should have specified
