Default Has anyone run ko4/997 brids on stock software for a while? Just until....

money can be saved for fueling. Not interested in "just save up and do it all at once" not an option just looking for yes and no here, why and why not.

I already have a MBC so I guess I could cap any kind of spikes at idk 7psi?

swapping some turbos this summer and have a chance to pick up some Blouch units

TIA!

Default Why is waiting to install turbos until you can get fueling not an option?

Seems like the most logical approach. No sense in putting in bigger turbos and running them on stock software because you really won't get substantial gains from it. Better just to do it right one time don't you think?

But to answer your question, yes it will run.

Default Just to clarify, I want to swap in a stock ecu and run stock boost levels for

the summer bc i worry about running too lean on my asp stage 2 software even with a MBC in place.

I know the general consensus seems to be stage two fueling and a MBC is "safe" on k04's but I get the feeling most of the people saying this are just regurgitating info they have read on here and AZ (which could be guesses), too much opinion and not enough info from the tuners on the subject. I wish people would stop posting guesses as facts but then it wouldn't be the intraweb lol

Thanks again all,
night

Default No tuner is going to tell you it's okay to run software not meant for the hardware you have.

No one will be stupid enough to take on that liability.

Default Talk to ASP to see if they can do a custom tune for the hardware you have.

Maybe you can work a deal with them based on you upgrading buying the fueling from them at a later date.

Default Stock MAF, stock injectors? No reason why it wouldnt work.

The only issue I see is possibility of positive deviation code if your WG are preset too high and you can't achieve low req boost of stock software. My K04 WGs crack at ~7psi. Stock req boost on the top end tapers to around that. Worse case, a little throttle cut/limp mode. No harm.

Get ECUx and Lemmiwinks and tune it yourself. You'll be able to see if your car is leaning out.
