Greetings - I'm considering purchasing a 2000 B5 S4 with about 195K on it. The car has a few cosmetic issues on the exterior, and the usual wear you might expect on the leather interior. It runs and shifts well: pulls strong and is smooth through all the gears. I did have a local Audi mechanic check it out and he pulled the following codes after the test drive.

Odometer: 196,460
Fault codes which recurred under load on short test drive:
Drive line c/v joints have slight rattle during test drive.
4 Faults Found:
17865 - Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor 2 (G236)
P1457 - 35-00 - Open or Short to Plus
17965 - Charge Pressure Control
P1557 - 35-00 - Positive Deviation
17521 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor; B1 S1
P1113 - 35-00 - Internal Resistance too High
17539 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor; B2 S1
P1131 - 35-10 -

The stored ECU codes showed several misfires and were cleared before the test drive. The misfire codes did not return during the test drive.

My question is this. Any thoughts on whether 200k is getting to the end of life for this vehicle? They are asking $3500, but it is not worth it if it will be a money pit.
By the way, I can do most repairs on my own, so that at least saves on much of the labor.
