Default How can I tell if I need to replace my Camshaft Tensioners?

A mechanic who is not an audi specific mechanic just did my timing belt and some other work when I picked it up he told me that I needed to do my Camshaft Tensioners Left and Right. He said they were spinning or something and he said it would be a $1300 job. I'm stage 3 and at 168k miles if it matters. I just would not rather spend another $1300 as I just bought this car and have spent quite a bit to get everything just right. he also told me to take it easy on my car because of the Camshaft Tensioners. I kind of don't know what to do right now. I need to know if this is something that I need to replace.

My Camshaft Tensioners are fine. Took my car into the best Audi shop in existence.
