Sounds like your transmission and/or motor mounts are shot. How many miles on the car?

Default I have 56,000. I think they are bad because you can feel a lot of driveline movement, BUT...

I took my car to the local dealer and my friend who is a certified Audi mechanic said they are fine?? I believe him but how can you really tell if they are shot?

Default When the motor mounts go bad, they start oozing a purple colored fluid that you can see from under

the car. The tranny mounts need a more thorough inspection because they are not fluid filled.

Best thing to do with the tranny mounts is to unbolt them from the subframe (2 bottom bolts for each mount), jack up the tranny a bit and wiggle the mounts around. They should be very firm and not wobbly or loose in any way.

Worst case, like my tranny mounts and one of my motor mounds, they will be completely separated apart. I cringed when I discovered that.

Default If it wasnt't coming from where the transmission is, I would say it's your control arms. But, I

think that you need to take a real close/in-depth look at your mounts. They are probably shot.

Default I had alot of noise and movement with mine, the stock rear diff mount went

bad and i replaced it with an ASP one, and a ASP DTS helped out a lot, I have RS4 trans mounts that still need to go in, the Dirr and trans DTS got rid of 90% of the noise and movement issue hope this helps
