Cleared codes, only ones that came back were the awful misfires.

Swapped connectors on the ICMs, same misfires.
Swapped a few coils around, same misfires.

Watched blocks 15 and 16. Misfires go up a few hundred on cylinder 1 and 5 and around 30 on 2 before the counters reset.

After installing lifters and cams we did crank over the car by hand a few times and it for way longer than the 30 minutes recommended by the bentley.

Spark plugs were changed maybe 500-1000 miles before tearing the car apart. They look fine to me, but we have not tried new plugs or swapped them around.

With new stock cams? Hmm...N75 valve could be culprit even tho it didn't throw a code. Could be insignificant enough to keep from throwing a code, but cause other issues. I could be wrong..

The other thing I was thinkin was possible a tooth off in timing due to the change in cams... that could be. But if you know you got it right, then scratch that.

Hope it works out.

If it's got a rough idle and misfires check your timing again make sure the mark on the crank and the marks on the cams line up 100% did you use the came locking tool when you did the belt??Normally if the car idles rough your 1 tooth off or maybe 2. any more and you might have some serious issues.like bent valves.Always always turn the engine over by hand after doing a job like that just to be safe.At least thats what I do better safe than sorry do it once do it right.

Couldn't agree more, I just recently did a tb, wp, and all the cam seals including cam tensioners + valve covers... duh. but ya I turned it over by hand more than twice to be sure everything was in the clear. Didn't have any issues though, been working on too many car for too many years to have an issue with a motor.

Curious thou, if your off with the timing, and you turn it by hand, ya think you'll notice it hiting or bending a valve?

Never had this issue, so I wouldn't know.

Well If your off you'll know because the cam locking tool will not fall into place because the cams will be off and if your off when your turning the motor over by hand and theres a valve thats open thats not supposed to be you will notice excessive resistance and wount be able to turn it all the way over back to the timing mark.
