Just got rear-ended

Just got rear-ended
The bumper is pretty messed up, trunk closes but is also banged up and the alarm will not arm. *grumble* Any thoughts on how much trunk/bumpers cost these days to repair?

It's actually not that bad assuming you didn't get any frame damage. What is your insurance company saying?

I was rear ended which pushed me into the back of the car infront of me.
Damage: Rear bumper shock, trunk, rear bumper & cover, front nose piece, AC condensor, headlights --- oh and a bent frame.
My insurance decided to fix it: $6500.
Not sure how bad your car is but they may try to straighten the frame if you let them.

Most likely. The rear quarter panel is probably pushed forward on the car. If your insurance fixes it, its pretty common for them to take it to a frame shop an pull it out.
Just be careful and look it over really well before you take reciept of the car (if your not comfortable with how it looks after the fix it, go home and come back the next day - its less hassle if you never take reciept of the vehicle).
My car handles okay and looks straight; however, I just put coilovers on last summer and my passenger side coilover has to be compress over 1" more than the other side just to get the ride height correct (measured from the ground to the fender). Not a big deal, but its annoying to know that somethings wrong.

Check the floor of the trunk...
If it is separated, you are probably hosed. I got rear-ended in 2006.. doors closed fine, but trunk separated. $15K to fix, but nearly totalled. Now the car woulda been way gone!

I got the estimate, about $7500 and the bluebook is 8-9k, so I expect it will get totalled. The trunk is actually smaller on the right side (didn't notice earlier). I can't believe how much the car has lost in value since i bought it - and how expensive it has gotten to maintain. thinking of a bmw 135i coupe to replace. 3-door is nicer, but not in the us yet.
