So after some help from this forum I VAGed and realized that my N75 needed to be replaced. So I go to put a new one in and.......

Hood release cable is broken.

I read about getting the latch from under the car, but I found the metal tab that was described in the forums and pushed it both ways with a 24" peice of all thread and got no where.

Can anyone describe again what the tab looks like - which direction to push it- and about how much pressure is going to be required?
