Default there is no current flow to the pump when the engine is running.

i believe the blades are magnetically driven, so it spins free with normal coolant flow while the engine is on.

Default Hmm... odd that the VW dealership I checked didn't stock the part then.

Oh well, they ordered it for my anyway... it'll be in on Saturday.

Default im pretty sure you are right...i dont have the TT wiring diagram here....

i do know that the TT afterrun (and all other modern audis, i.e. NON-b5) have the afterrun function linked to the ECU. so the ECU may tell the afterrun when to come on now.

Default probably a low use item...

whats funny to think about is the supplier information that germany will be getting in a few weeks. a whole slew of restocking requests for a eurovan temp switch...hehe.

And apparently the ECU just defaults to "always come on"

Default I can picture the parts guy sitting there scratching his head...

wondering why all the Eurovans have their thermoswitches failing at once.

Default Hmmm, well if the choices are:

(Transverse 1.8T)
Always Come On
-or-
(2.7T)
Never Come On

I'd go for the 1.8T method.

With this new thermoswitch though, the S4 setup seems ideal.
