Default Major Coolant Leak... Help!

Ran into some trouble. I was on the way to go fishing.. driving though the middle of nowhere and sprung a BIG coolant leak... the only problem is I don't know where from. Where ever it came from it got everywhere. (Radiator shroud, under manifold, back end of motor) I killed the car and looked as soon as I noticed the leak and b/c of the steam I couldn't see jack. I noticed a large amount under the intake manifold and have since pulled it off thinking it was my 2ndary pump but to be honest I can't tell. Unfortunately since so much blew out at once there is no noticeable gooping up of the orange crusty stuff. Can anyone recommend some ideas of how to figure this out? I have had a slight leak from the t-fitting near the coolant tank for some time that I just fixed the same day this happened. I checked that hose for rupturing and it looked ok and seemed to be holding fine. My guess it that since I had a pressure leak and fixed it the system found another place to let go from. I currently have the top end of the motor off. (Intake, Fuel, and manifold) b/c of the shroud on the radiator I can't tell if its leaking from there or not. But as of the time the leak occured the system had leaked all out and I'm not sure how to test it? Photos below. Thanks for any help you can provide!!!!!

Default One of those coolant pipes that runs under the manifold is probably leaking...

At the front of the block. The seals get worn out and if the pipe gets giggled just a bit, it will leak like hell. I pulled them out and put a bit of teflon tape on them. No problems since.

Default Yep. 2nd pic - center. See the metal pipe underneath the rubber hose?

It likely needs a new o-ring. Don't discount the possibility of the left line needing one too. PITA to replace... at least it was on my 30v A4.

Default So my guess is I need to unbolt the black pipes from the back of the block?

And where does the black pipe go to? Can I unbolt the motor lift hook to remove the whole top portion of the runner?

Default You got it

Once you remove the line that runs parallel to the firewall, you'll be able to pull out the other two. There are a number of o-rings there, so have the dealer pull up that section on the screen and give you all the necessary o-rings.

Be careful not to lose the old/new o-rings in the piping.

Default When you say all the hoses... you mean the metal ones? or the rubber as well?

Also did you get any damage from running with no coolant?

Default While I'm in there... Is it possible to clean the tops of the valves?....

I can see a bunch of crud on them from the last 100k. I'm referring to cleaning them down through the intake runners. Also what is under that plate that you can see in the center area between the heads? It has one of those clip connectors on the back of it and held down by hex head bolts... So far I've burned 130 bucks on o-rings and seals for this thanks to Audi's pricing. Also while I'm in here replacing my o2 sensors... anything else I should do? I'm at 120k so might as well. I just hope once this is all done nothing is burned up from running just about into the red.

Thanks again!
