Maybe, but 10000K HIDs definitely look like rice.

Default Generally, when you give up large amounts of function for nothing but looks, that = rice. Therefore

10000K HIDs = RICE.

They have WAY lower actual light output than 4300K (stock-most light output), 5000K (nice choice in my book), and even 6000K (now getting pretty rice as light output is significantly reduced only to gain more blue color). Any higher than that and you're SRSLY diminishing light output/visibility.

Default Trust me, the light output/actual brightness is much lower. More inside.

Color Temperature is a measurement in Degrees Kelvin that indicates the hue of a specific type of light source. Many people believe the misconception that color temperature is a rating of the brightness of the bulb or HID kit. This belief is completely false. The reality of the matter is that the higher the color temperature, the less useable light output you will obtain. A perfect example would be a black light. This light has a color temperature of approx 12,000k and has almost no useable light or lumens output. Higher K kits such as 7000k, 7500k, etc. have been manufactured for individuals that are more concerned about the actual color output of their lights as opposed to the actual useable light output they produce.

Default Oh, and another reason they may have looked brighter to you is simply that they were new bulbs.

Many here have noticed an increase in brightness when replacing their older 4300K stock bulbs with new 4300K stock bulbs. So it's probably that, cus 1000K bulbs definitely do not inherently have higher light output than stock.

That is correct. Only faith and denial can defeat science.
