You're going to miss all the colours....
November is pretty dreary in Montreal and Toronto. You'll see a lot of grey and it will be chilly. If you've never been there before I suggest you plan a lot of indoor activities.
If you enjoy good food at nice restaurants then you will find it hard to miss in either city.
Let me know if you need a few pointers.

Oops, I mean 10/11...hopefully Montreal is more appealing in Oct, but...
it doesn't sound like a good leaf season is to be found this year in the east. Which probably isn't so bad, since I plan on having my eyes glued to the road and my S4 guages 8^}
