Default My day as an RS4 Owner..........

To whom it may concern
I have become great friends with a guy who owns a 2000 nogaro blue b5 RS4 (as seen in my pic poster). Circumstances came about that he needed my good gas mileage diesel b class Benzo for a long 1 day road trip and in return I got the RS4. I have previously driven the car for an hour at a time but this would be my first chance to have it for a long time.
I got the car around noon and my day ended around midnight what follows will be a brief description of the day and my thoughts.
Please remember that the best of roads in my city in Poland are like I-94 in downtown Detroit (mostly potholes). So this will not be a performance report. The car has all the options available including a performance suspension of some sort. It does not have Sat Nav.
The car is gorgeous from every angle like a fine work of art it belongs in a museum not cranking around the streets. I am a short fellow maybe 5' 11" and the highest point of the roof rails is about my mid to upper chest which is amazing. Getting in the car is like getting in a vette it is alot lower then i would have ever thought which is a little annoying after a few in and outs ( but i am lazy so maybe its just me). This low ground clearance also leads to many problems like making it into the car wash which i never would have thought was a problem but because of the lip to get into the garage i had to back in.
While the car was in the wash i got to appreciate how wide it really is pictures do not do it justice it is ten times wider then i would have ever thought. However it is not so wide that it looks out of place.
After the wash i took the car to the one nice stretch of road to turn it loose. I have to say the only indication of the speed of the thing is the speedometer you do not feel like you are accelerating as fast as you are. But it goes like holy H E double hockey sticks. The dash from 100KPH to 200 KPH goes by in a heartbeat. The car has been tuned by the same company in warsaw that has done the famous drag s4. This car i dont think would stand a chance against your basic stage 3 s4 IMHO. Also with the stock exhaust their is almost no noise from the car when you cane it which i must say is a little depressing but easily fixed. The car is amazingly smooth and has very little lag and pulls like a train all the way to redline.
After this i went to the gym and the grocery store were the extra room of the avant was a very nice touch. This is one of the best features of the car. The ability to have a true sports car and also take 4 people and their clubs to the golf course is worth its weight in gold.
The last trip of the day was to the dorm to study for a big exam were i ran into my last problem. The road was so bad i decided that this car should not even attempt to go down it. I drive the benz down this road at 50KPH everyday and dont think twice. So i parked in a safe place and walked three block which i didnt like (please see above i am lazy).
My overall opinion of the car is that for this country it is not an acceptable every day driver with the low ride height and a suspension that makes my H&R coilovers look like a caddy air suspension. Shame they never brought it to the USA becuase it would have been perfect since our roads on average are much better. Having said all this the car will be for sale soon and it will be for 100% in my garage and here is why.
IMHO there is no substitute for the looks non car people give you when the see you pull up in a low bright blue station wagon. Or the look you get when telling someone your station wagon would run down most other cars on the road porsches ferraris etc. For a company like audi to pack all this technology into a Avant is amazing and what makes this car what it is. Obviously if it were a coupe or even a four door sedan no one would pay it any attention it is because it is an avant why you simple must stop and drool.
I hope whomever reads this enjoys it for its humor and opinions. Miss the USA cant wait to get home and drive the car. PIGGIE RULES
