You might as well be leasing. "Balloon payment" contracts exist primarily because in the USA we have "personal property tax" states, where lessee's are penalized. But for this punitive taxation, most everyone would lease...

The plan is to keep this car (current coupe is 12 yrs old), and I'm in the middle of restoring...
an 1840 farm house. The wife rather we not drop $45K today. If I put say $10-15 into the baloon, my payments are like $350-400 and guessing the baloon in 3 years will be $25K or so. I guess my option could be a home equity loan, with the interst being deductable. With this additional info, what is your opinion?
