New Car Purchase - Dealer Add-ons
Having lurked around this forum for some time, I'm jumping in head first...in more ways than one.
Have ordered for purchase a new S4 with a projected end-of-December delivery...Premium Pkge, Monsoon Gray, black/red leather, manual transmission, sports dif, B&O Sound, stainless inlays...all-season tire swap-out.
Not to be outdone, my wife purchased an A4, of which she took delivery last night. She was offered a dizzying array of dealer options, packaged under different headings (Preferred, Value, Basic and Economy). The packages include:
-Audi Care (this pre-pay plan seems to make the most sense to buy)- $800.
-Wheel and Tire Road Hazard (Does this really pay, even in NJ? Neither my wife or I have ever bent a rim) -$995.
-StayNu (ding/dent/interior repair)- $749.
-Simoniz (supposedly a protective paint-bonding agent)- $795.
(All prices listed, other than Audi Care, are subject to negotiation)
Dealer has said all this needs to be ordered in a 24-hour timeframe (which he says he will stretch to 48 hours)...I know this is a load of manure...generally a high pressure sales technique. Though I have done some research on this forum, I am still having trouble determining what, if any, options (other than Audi Care...this sounds like a reasonable deal) my wife and I should choose for our new rides.
Alternatively, we both had the 3M clear film on our previous vehicles with pretty decent results...it this a better option than the Simoniz?
Any and all opinions would be greatly appreciated. Being a newbie here, I apologize in advance if any of this is a redundant post.
Thanks for your time! I look forward to participating, not lurking.
