o2 sensor replacement
#3
Here is a customized one:
1. Make sure you have the necessary tools, expecially a 1" O2 sensor socket or a 1" crow's foot.
2. You'll need at least 24" of socket extensions, and probably a universal socket joint.
3. Make sure engine is cold at the beginning
4. Remove accordian hose and MAF.
5. Shine flashlight into driver side engine bay between the firewall and engine. You'll see the thing screwed into the downpipe.
6. Use your hand to guide the socket onto the sensor, and loosen it. It's probably going to to be super super tight. If you can't get it, run the engine for 2-4 minutes to warm it up. Then, try again.
7. Driver side: undo coolant expansion tank (don't forget to unclip the connector at the bottom).
You may or may not be able to readily see it. However, you should know the general orientation of it, since you know where the passenger one is.
From the passenger side of the engine bay, run your socket and all of your extensions diagonally toward the sensor and once again, use your hand for proper alignment.
Installation is reverse of removal.
Also, if you have gloves, wear them. Also, also, when putting in the new sensors, use plenty of anti seize.
Good luck.
