Well , Like I said in your previous post I found someone in China who sold me 20 LCD's...
that was the minimum order.I'm going to keep like 5 for my car and my friend's car.
If anyone wants some I can sell them cheaper than you can buy anywhere else just to get rid of them.
First I thought it might be a scam but the DHL already brought the package but I wasn't home so they took it back to the wherehouse I think. I should have them tomorrow but first of all I'm going to install one to see if everything works etc.
These are China man made not OEM VDO I think VDO don't even make a replacement LCD because I tried to search and find them really hard but couldn't find enything but China man made but who knows.

Re: For all we know this could be some scam to help that ebay guy the VDO display
I am certainly no soldering expert but I have some experience with the older style thru board components. I have zero experience with surface mounted devices. With that said, I'm certainly not trying to cut in on yours or anyone else's business. I posted this to help do it yourselfers not to force people to do it. I would be remiss if I didn't say the easiest part of the job was the rework soldering. I had a much tougher time pulling the enclosure apart and getting the pointers lined up to zero.
I did a bit of poking around on the net; tons of little instructional videos to help with soldering techniques. MacGyver also gave me some great information. I had the correct tools and took my time and was very careful. Also I didn't want to invest the money in a hot air rework station, but when I found Chipquick it was a no brainer for me, since there was no risk of damaging a pad or other components.
Finally, the biggest thing was I get great enjoyment doing these types of projects and love the feeling of accomplishment I receive. If you are not like me and have any apprehension at all then by all means I recommend you send the cluster out for repair, assuming whom ever you send it to guarantees the work. I can assure you this...no one is going take as much time to do it right than you will.

This DIY thread would be great place for people to post sources for LCD's and any details about the color/contrast/quality/price.
Possibly the original author could update the first post with a list of sources as the come available too.
Thanks for the write up!

Modulemasters does it for $120 - the website says the parts are on back order ETA 2 weeks. http://www.modulemaster.com/en/servi...t_clusters.php
