This is the S4 that was on the track with bald
tires after just a few hot lap sessions.

Can you post to the A4 forum picture poster...I
cannot from this pc :-(

Steve

I think this is the car that Matt got a ride in driven by Hurley Haywood.

Default This was the car Doug from VW Vortex rode in...not Matt

Matt was in a Nogaro blue one with the alcantara interior...

Default Rides were in European spec S4's and US spec in the tent?

Default Bald tires?

A couple of laps around the track and tires went bald? Sounds like the Accura NSX story where owners had to buy new tires every 3000 miles. "Change the oil and slap on 4 of those Pilots, will ya'?" Accura said, "If you buy a performance car you should expect this expense." Hope the same isn't true for the S4.

Default The rides and display S4s were all the North America version

The drivers giving the hot laps were REALLY pushing the limits of the car...can you say sideways in the corner? I know you can. The yellow one either had improper tire inflation...or the driver just burned them off real quick. I have no idea how many laps there were...I think each journalist got two laps...maybe 50 journalists....1-2 rides each in the S4 and TT. The driver of the yellow S4 was flying....literally...

Default So you can order no chrome trim???

The yellow one on display had chrome trim (US style), while the one in the picture above does not (euro style). If they are both US spec, then we should be able to specify chrome trim or not.
