Default "A couple of laps around that track..." That's a good one.

That yellow S4 had probably gone around that track about 50 times before they pulled it off. And the drivers were not being kind to the cars. These were professional drivers (I rode with Hurley Haywood) and they took the cars to the limit and abused them hard. I'm interested in knowing what they did with those cars that were being used for the hot laps.

Default 140 treadwear tires are not meant to last 40k miles...

And the drivers did not make any effort to drive them "easy" either. The driver of the yellow S4 was putting on a show for the press, by throwing the car into every corner and hangin' everything out for the cameras; 4000 RPM launches from the pits and big time power slides. The car driven by Haywood was being driven much more smoothly and the tires were holding up in extremes quite well.

Don't judge the performance of these tires by the press event.
