Please help: Half-way through Vogtland GT install, and encountered a problem... (urgent)

One of the rear shock collars will not adjust properly. When trying to lower the collar from the top-most position, and set it to 1.75" as startup's website instructs, the collar makes a few revolutions than will not go any further. It travels, at most, 0.25"
I have not tried forcing the collar out of fear that I'll strip the threads either on the collar or on the shock body.
Has anyone experienced this? Should I "gently force" the collar down, or try another alternative?
Or, should I expect smooth travel at every point on the shock body meaning that this piece is defective...
Any help you can provide will be appreciated. My car is on the lift at my mechanic's shop and I am in a bind....
I left a voice-mail and e-mail with Tomasz asking the same questions... FYI - I bought the kit new during his Holiday sale and it arrived in an un-damaged box.
TIA,
Tom

There were some areas on the thread that were hard to get through when I did mine.
This is while I was presetting them, not while they were installed. In those areas I just had to use the spanner wrench instead of my hand to turn it and it was fine. Maybe spray some lubricant on the thread so they collar glides over the thread easier.

Thanks for the help. In my case, it may not be clearcoat...
Because the bottom collar can travel through the 'trouble area'
Although I will try your suggestion.
Thanks again

For the archives; response from Tomasz = "Lube it up and force it down. Then examine the thread."
And I should state that I don't want to misrepresent Tomasz...
It goes without saying that you should exercise caution if you're attempting this method to avoid unnecessary damage.
Thanks everyone for the quick advice.

Had the exact problem with mine this past Jan.
Do not force anything as it can make a marginal situation worse. In my case, the internal threads on the collar had some damage and had to be chased out and cleaned up. After that, it threaded on to the shock body without any binding. How the collar internal threads got damaged is unknown but it was resolved.
Hope this helps.
