I recently purchased a used S4 ECU (wrecker). It is an A box and was told that it was chipped but the seller don't know the brand. Is there a way to find out which compnay chip the ECU got? Thnx

Open it up and look for stickers. If not, vag com and look for some tell tale sign on the discription. otherwise. log and compare.

that's a tough one, especially if it was flashed rather than physically swapped. I guess you could narrow it down by taking it to your local tuner. They will typically have APR or GIAC and will be able to tell if your tune is their brand or not.
