Is it possible to visually inspect front control arms for failure? What to look for?

Is it possible to visually inspect front control arms for failure? What to look for?

Default Look at the boots in the front that connect to the up-rights. Also shine a light

on the back bushings that are to the left and right of the shock. Also jacks that corner up and try to rock the tire back and forth and up and down. sometimes there are no visible signs but the bushings might be shot from with-in.

also if you remove the arm and play with the joint and its very very soft and has lots of play

Default No problem! I've been there before - This car's suspension can be daunting

before you become way way too intimately familiar with it... ;-)

Default Also inspect the bushing ends.

They can have mild to severe cracking in them like these.
