Default details........

zero clearance turbos involves a coating on the compressor housing that reduces the clearacne in between the housing and wheel down to 0-.002/3in. this reduces heat, and increases the efficiency of the wheel as it is now using that previously unused air. (factory clearance is around .008-.011in.) upon start up of the turbo, the efficiency of the wheel is 100% and as the wheel wears its pattern into the housing, the efficiency drops to around 95%. factory efficiency of the K04 compressor wheel is about 70-72%.

Default I'll guess that it's a name that was created for reducing tolerances between the blades and housing?

I think I can convince myself that the blades are closer to the housing in these pics, but then again, it might just be the lighting/flash. And if this is it, I would imagine it's the same situation througout the turbo (turbine & compressor).

Default now what do these tighter clearances do for the turbo over it's extented life, as bearings wear in -

an shaft play increases...

Default KKK??? good boy...leak some more :-)

KKK03s just aren't super reliable in our cars but if they have been "Imolavirus infected" maybe they'll last longer and scream a little louder...in a good way of course.

My guess would be that efficiency decreases towards stock levels as the coating wears.
