OK, now that we guys and gals are about to take delivery on this car of our dreams (some much sooner than others) let's get to an important question: which radar/laser detectors do you each prefer and how do you plan to mount/install in your new car? Mines so old, I forget the model but it's battery operated and sits via a clip on the sun visor of my Beemer. It's worked well but I'd prefer it located somewhere else, just don't know where. Any suggestions appreciated. Is that ugly Valentine One really the Escort of the late 90's?

Come on now, the V1 is not that bad and it beats the Fuzz-Buster of the early 80's (I think)in appearance, right? The V1 is the best that I know of, and just ordered one for my father-in-law. He just took delivery of a M-Roadster. I told him that if he does not like it, I will buy it.

Just got my V1 two weeks ago. There is only one other product that may compare, the K40. I'm not sure exactly how to go about purchasing it. It's an installed product with multiple sensors placed at the front and rear of your car. They also make a special front plate holder that emits an infrared signal to confuse laser guns. The whole set-up is close to $1000.00 I think. They guaruntee the product by offering to pay for any ticket you may receive for one year after purchase. The Valentine has far outperformed every detector it has been compared with, but to my knowledge, it has never been compared to the K40.
