Random question about ECU tuning!
If your check engine light is on because of piggie pipes (main and pre-cats gutted), would that make the car run rich? Also, would installing VAST CELiminator's plugs correct over riching?? Thanks in advance for any info.

Best to ask Vast directly, but my understanding is No, it would not. The CELeliminators do just that, they fool the ECU into thinking it's getting valid readings from the sensors.
With Piggies you should be able to install your own secondary O2 bungs behind the cat - that's the better option because it eliminates the CEL without sending false signals to the ECU.
Whether the car runs rich or not - you need to do run a test to determine that. Rich is bad, but lean is worse. My understanding is that the car defaults to a richer mixture rather than leaner when things are out of whack.

hey
what chip are you running? and what is the exact CEL code? are they cat codes? rear o2 codes? front o2 codes? really need more info but generally no, having piggy pipes will not make it run rich/lean.
installing vast CELiminators is just an o2 sensor spacer... they work by spacing out the o2 sensor from the exhaust stream a little bit to make the sensor read different (and a different reading would make the ECU think the cats are working) ... this sometimes works but is not the most elegant solution to the problem. most people just tune out the rear o2s and weld the bung shut.
also i sent you a PM about the vast GT kit.

Go to auto zone, napa ect buy a bunch of spark plug defoulers stack 2 to 3 of these on each rear o2 sensors and then clear code and see if it doesn't come back after driving around a while, if so it's bc you gutted cats, and this should solve it, oh andthey cost 4 or 5 bucks forI think 3 or 4 in a pack, your running rich? How do you know do you have a an air/fuel and wide band o2 or is your bumper just ricer black and your exhaust reak of gas? This is also no cats, cats burn the unburnt fuel vapor, which is causing those 2 problems, if your air fuel ratio is actualy running rich it could be your forward o2 sensors as these are a factor of our cars fuel delivery and metering, best bet, pull codes if you Wana know for sure

i actually got my ECU programmed out the piggie pipe code and 2nd air injector code from VAST. My car is shaking like crazy right now at idle, so I won't know if that code being erased will improve anything but CEL. I will closely monitor and see if that programmin out was better solution than the O2 eliminator.
